National Trails Day &

June's Trails Month

National Trails Day is Saturday, June 6th

and the entire month of June has been

declared “Trails Month” by

South Carolina, Beaufort County, City of Beaufort and Town of Port Royal

The Spanish Moss Trail is getting a lot of attention this June! Our Trail is a great example of why trails are being celebrated all around the country on National Trails Day this Saturday, June 6. This national celebration was established by the American Hiking Society in the 1990s as a nationwide event advocating for public lands, promoting outdoor recreation, and encouraging volunteers to engage in trail cleanup and stewardship projects.

The Spanish Moss Trail is now a registered partner with National Trails Day and will be celebrated along with hundreds of Trail systems all over the country. Building on that momentum is now the state of South Carolina, Beaufort County, City of Beaufort and Town of Port Royal – who, for the first time, have all declared the entire month of June “Trails Month” – especially highlighting the Spanish Moss Trail as the crown jewel in the Lowcountry. We are proud that the Friends of the Spanish moss Trail could be a part of building this large coalition of awareness and support for our this important community Trail.

Get out there and enjoy this unique trail experience that is a recognized segment of the East Coast Greenway and offers more than 100,000 locals and visitors a 10-mile+ recreational experience year round.

No other motorized vehicles or e-bikes are permitted. Dogs must be leashed and pet waste must be removed (pet-waste stations available).
