Two Tree Groves Now Available for Tree Donations
along the Spanish Moss Trail
We have two beautiful locations to choose from for our popular Gift of a Tree program. One grove is located just south of the Depot Trailhead after the Hermitage Road crossing parallel to Fripp Street where Tonto Crape Myrtles can be planted. Our other grove is at the Depot Trailhead where we are currently planting Allee Elm trees. Both locations are watered and maintained by the City of Beaufort.
Our Gift of a Tree program is a perfect way to add beauty to our Lowcountry’s greenway – by honoring a special occasion, family member, or in memorial of a loved one. A gift of a tree is enduring, symbolic, and will grow stronger year after year.
How this program works:
For a $3,000 tax-deductible donation, the Friends of the Spanish Moss Trail will work with you on your location of choice and the permanent plaque that will be placed at the base of your tree to identify your generous gift. If you are an interested donor we would prefer receiving a check (instead of online payment as the online platform will take a percentage for this service). You can mail to the address below and then please reach out to us at info@spanishmosstrail.com and we will confirm your tree location and plaque details.
All checks should be made payable to:
Friends of the Spanish Moss Trail and mailed to: Friends of the Spanish Moss Trail, P.O. Box 401, Beaufort, SC 29901
Our Fall Tree Planting Details:
We partner with the City of Beaufort and our Fall 2026 tree planting will take place on South Carolina's Arbor Day on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2026. Plaques will be installed the following week..
We look forward to working with you!
